Temporary Access Pass (TAP) in Microsoft Entra ID

I explored the 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀 (𝗧𝗔𝗣) feature in Microsoft Entra ID and here’s what I found: TAP provides passwordless authentication for users, making it easy for organizations to grant secure, time-limited access to accounts. This is perfect for 𝗼𝗻𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 or enabling users to access accounts quickly often 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗙𝗔 using a Temporary Access Pass.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗔𝗣:
1️⃣ Access Entra ID and navigate to Identity → Protection → 𝘼𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙈𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙙𝙨.
2️⃣ Under Policies - find 𝙏𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙨 and click Enable.
3️⃣ Select the user you want to assign the TAP, then go to Authentication Methods → 𝘼𝙙𝙙 𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙙.
4️⃣ Choose Temporary Access Pass from the list of available methods and 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙛𝙞𝙜𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙨𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨.
5️⃣ Once configured, click Add to save the changes.
6️⃣ Finally, 𝙘𝙤𝙥𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙏𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙨 𝙘𝙤𝙙𝙚 and securely provide it to the user for them to use.
